Requirements:
Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Medical Records or Certificate in Medical Coding Program from an accredited institution.
Minimum of three years experience in coding of diagnosis and other medical procedures.
Familiar with and experienced in using various coding system procedures such as the International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) or Office of Population Censuses and Surveys Classification of Surgical Operations and Procedures Fourth Revision (OPCS-4).
Medical Coding Certificate in ICD -10CM and CPT .
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
Experience in chart review and coordinating with doctors for completion of Records.
Verbal and written communications skills in English language are essential.
Must be able to work effectively within a team.
Key Outputs:
Code diagnosis and procedures.
Collection and compilation of statistics.
Review of medical records for complete documentation.
Good analytical skills.
To play an active role in the Medical Records Review committee on improving documentation processess.
